Grime Scene Investigation returns

The Sustainability team are once again looking for volunteers from the University community to help audit the waste and recycling from halls of residences and academic buildings to find out which are the best recyclers and the worst contaminators.

The event will take place on Thursday 25 May, 10am-3pm, outside Edward Herbert Building (EHB). Volunteers will be auditing waste from James France, David Wallace, The Link, Car Park 6 compactor, and Towers Halls.

Not only will you learn how to improve your recycling habits on campus, but you’ll be doing your part to save the planet by giving up your valuable time, too.

Students - your hall’s attendance will count towards your score in the Student Green League.

Our previous Grime Scene Investigation in March found that our biggest contaminators were food in the general waste and unwashed recycling. Contamination affects the whole bin’s contents, so make sure to rinse your recycling and let it dry, and ensure you put any food into the food waste bin.

Those who are interested in volunteering can sign up by emailing enviroassist@lboro.ac.uk
