Loughborough University Community Donations Fund 2023 opens for bids

Loughborough University is pleased to invite community groups and organisations local to its East Midlands and London campuses to bid for funding from its Community Donations Fund.

Three funding opportunities are available. A total of £25,000 will be awarded.

Open Fund

This fund is open to groups and organisations across Charnwood. £12,500 is available and you can apply for a maximum of £750.

Inside Out Fund

This fund is open to staff members of the University who are active volunteers in charities, groups or other community organisations. £5,000 is available and you can apply for a maximum of £500.

London Open Fund

Celebrating our home on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the Loughborough University London Open Fund is only available to organisations working in Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets or Waltham Forest. £7,500 is available for community groups.  You can apply for a maximum of £1000.

For the current round of bids, the University is aligning the fund with the core themes of the new University strategy. Applications will be particularly welcome for projects that link to health and wellbeing, climate change or sustainability or vibrant/inclusive communities.

Chief Operating Officer, Richard Taylor is chair of the awarding committee for 2023. He commented:

“I am delighted that we are now able to call for bids to the University’s Community Donations Fund. We have been operating the fund since 2009 and over £500,000 has been donated to a diverse range of projects and activities.

“The University’s current strategy places great emphasis on the role that Loughborough can play in tackling some of the biggest challenges that society faces today. We have chosen to reflect these themes in our fund this year and this will give us the opportunity to support charities and other organisations who we know are doing important work to address the same challenges in the communities close to our campuses.”

The closing date for applications is Friday 9 June 2023, 5pm.
