Staff and students: Get involved in the Celebrate Black Joy poster competition

LU Arts wants you to design a poster that celebrates Black identity and represents Black Joy.

Using one of the templates you can include a slogan, poetry, illustration or create a collage that communicates your own experience, something wider or raises awareness of an issue pertinent to the Black experience. Templates can be downloaded online or picked up from the following venues:

  • Pilkington Library (behind the main reception desk)
  • Print and Parcel Services reception (Herbert Manzoni)
  • Cope foyer (Edward Barnsley)
  • London campus reception

There are three cash prizes:

  • First prize - £100
  • Second prize – £50
  • Third prize - £25

This is a collaboration with artist Nadina Ali to creatively collate experiences and thoughts about being a Black staff member or student at Loughborough.  From the posters, Nadina will design large banners that communicate these ideas to the wider university community; these will be installed on our Loughborough campus later in the year.

The deadline for entries is midnight on Sunday 19 February. The winners will be chosen by Nadina, based on their originality and will be announced by Wednesday 1 March. Selected entries will be showcased online after this date.

Submit your entry.
