Loughborough’s Director of Swimming appointed to the British Swimming Coaches Association board

Andi Manley, Loughborough University’s Director of Swimming, has been appointed to the British Swimming Coaches Association (BSCA) board.

Andi has over two decades worth of experience in coaching and will now offer his expertise to the BSCA whilst continuing to develop elite-level athletes at the University.

He first joined Loughborough in 1995 and following coaching positions at the Swindon Dolphins, and Derventio Excel & Swim Ontario in Canada, he returned to the Loughborough Campus in 2015.

He has coached a swimmer at every major international championship and also travelled to the Tokyo Olympic Games to support Loughborough athletes competing in Japan.

“It’s an honour to have been elected to the board of the BSCA,” Andi said.

“Having been a coach for over twenty years, the BSCA has played a big part in my professional development through many forms.

“It has supported me with advice and professional guidance and helped to expand my coaching network up and down the country. It is now my hope that I can be a strong voice for coaches and contribute to the further development of coaching in Great Britain.”

The BSCA was formed in 1965, teaching and coaching members within Clubs, schools, universities, local authorities & employees of the Governing Bodies at all levels of the sport. It represents the views of, and offers support to, both the voluntary & professional sectors of swimming.
