National Theatre Live: Spring Programme

Screenings of three National Theatre plays will be shown at Cope Auditorium from 27 April.

NT Live is an opportunity for people to access top-quality London productions in their local area and at a fraction of the cost. NT Live screenings are either recorded live and screened at a later date or broadcast live on the night.

This semester the following NT Live productions will be on offer:

GOOD is a powerful wartime play from C.P. Taylor, directed by Dominic Cooke. David Tennant (Doctor Who) makes a much-anticipated return to the West End in a blistering reimagining of one of Britain’s most powerful, political plays. Filmed live at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London.

Please note that the certificate for GOOD is 15.

Life of Pi, filmed live in London’s West End and featuring state-of-the-art visuals, the epic journey of endurance and hope is brought to life in a breath-taking new way for cinema screens.

After a cargo ship sinks in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, a 16-year-old boy named Pi is stranded on a lifeboat with four other survivors – a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan, and a Royal Bengal tiger. Puppetry, magic, and storytelling combine in a unique, Olivier Award-winning stage adaptation of the best-selling novel.

Please note that the certificate for Life of Pi is 12A.

Best of Enemies is a captivating political thriller, filmed live in London’s West End. David Harewood (Homeland) and Zachary Quinto (Star Trek) play feuding political rivals in James Graham’s (Sherwood) multiple-award-winning new drama.

Please note that the certificate for Best of Enemies is 15.

Tickets for NT Live screenings are £10 for staff and members of the public and £5 for students, which makes these the cheapest NT Live screenings in the area. You can book your tickets in advance online or pay by card on the door (subject to availability). Free parking is available on site.

National Theatre Live screenings are brought to you by LU Arts and Flix Student Run Cinema.
