University Compliance team commended at AUDE Awards

The University is delighted to announce that the Compliance team has been commended for the ‘Estates/Facilities Team of the Year Award’ at the 2023 AUDE Awards.

Over the last 30 months, the Compliance team has delivered a transformation in compliance standards by adopting a simple process of standardised LEAN tools and a cycle of continuous improvement. This has been supported by empowerment and a culture of open and honest reporting, focusing on improvement and problem solving.

The team won the award back in 2021 for their efforts managing the Covid-19 logistics across our campuses, providing 120,000 meals, a laundry service and an essential prescription delivery to students self-isolating.

Director of Estates and Facilities Management Graham Howard said: “Being in the top three of university Estates teams and having won in 2021 is an amazing achievement and incredibly rewarding. The professionalism and dedication of the University Compliance team to improve safety and regulatory compliance across a large campus impressed the judges.”

The AUDE (Association of University Directors and Estates) Awards take place annually as an occasion to highlight some of the fantastic estate and facilities teams that contribute to the success of universities across the UK.
