University closure day: The Queen's state funeral

The University will be closed on Monday 19 September to mark Her Majesty The Queen's state funeral.

The National Moment of Reflection at 8pm on Sunday 18 September will be marked on the Loughborough campus at the Hazlerigg Fountain,for anyone who wishes to attend. 

For the closure day, main services at the Loughborough and London campuses, including the Library, all sports facilities, the Students’ Union and catering outlets, will be closed, with normal operating hours resuming on Tuesday 20 September. 

Security services will remain operational and can be contacted in an emergency. 

Members of the Chaplaincy team are available for anyone needing support following the death of the Queen, further information on how to reach the team can be found on the Chaplaincy website. 

Support for staff is also available through the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). The EAP offers expert advice and compassionate guidance 24 hours a day.
