Update: Performance and Development Review (PDR) process for 2022/23

As part of the University’s new Strategy, Creating Better Futures. Together, a number of enabling projects have been developed to address organisational changes that need to be made to meet the institution’s strategic aims.

One of these, Project Expectations, will soon be carrying out a comprehensive review of the University’s performance and reward arrangements. This is due to be completed over the coming months.

Whilst this review is taking place, the University Executive Board has agreed on a series of proposals for the 2022/23 PDR process.

These are as follows:

  • PDR conversations should focus on performance, wellbeing and development, as well as identifying how a colleague’s role can support the delivery of the new University Strategy, where this is appropriate.

  • Ratings will continue to remain suspended whilst we await the outcome of the Project Expectations review.

  • PDRs must be completed between January – March 2023 (as we anticipate the timetable will not change).

  • Interim PDRs should follow this from August 2023 and will be made available on the online system from this point.
