Need help enhancing your maths skills? The Mathematics Learning Support Centre is here to help

As exam season approaches, the Mathematics Learning Support Centre (MLSC) would like to remind all students that their support is always available if needed. MLSC provides award-winning mathematics and statistics support for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as a dedicated statistics advisory service for postgraduates and final year project students.

As a free service for everyone – no matter what subject you’re studying! – the Support Centre is comprised of highly skilled support staff who are experts in their field. So, if you’re struggling with a maths-related topic, or would just like to enhance your skills and subject knowledge, you are welcome to visit and take advantage of its dedicated quiet study space on campus.

Through the MLSC, you are able to attend one-on-one support in person, led by highly skilled mathematics tutors, as well as book such sessions to be remote via MS Teams. Additionally, its quiet study space within the Centre always has tutors available on-site. Finally, the Centre also offers Facts & Formulae leaflets, as well as various other online learning resources.

By visiting the MLSC, you can build strong foundations for modules in future, as well as increase your confidence in maths and statistics. Furthermore, the Centre welcomes students who may not have studied maths to the extent required by their course, and you can consult and work with a tutor for any issues you may encounter.

The Centre can be found in the Schofield Building, Room 0.20. It is open during term time only, from 10am - 5pm, Monday to Friday except for Wednesdays, which are 10am - 4.30pm. Experienced mathematics and statistics tutors are available for appointments between 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm, Monday to Friday for one-to-one or group support.
