Staff: How to recycle electrical and electronic equipment

If you have redundant electrical equipment on campus, you can get this safely and sustainably disposed of through the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) service.

It is illegal to dispose of electrical and electronic equipment in general waste. Stone Technologies works with the University to ensure all equipment is disposed of properly. Where possible redundant equipment is refurbished and repaired. Where this is not possible, equipment is dismantled and recycled into tradeable commodities including plastics, ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Using this process ensures that we are limiting the amount of waste produced by the University and maximising the potential of equipment.

All electronic items must be free from Asbestos and biologically, chemically and radiologically clean. If you think an item falls within this exemption then please contact Nik Hunt on 01509 228083 or email waste@lboro.ac.uk to arrange removal.

If you have WEEE waste please fill out the relevant form for you and Stone will collect items directly from your location.
