The development builds on PING’s partnership with the University which has seen almost 30 students participate in the company’s internship programme, and an increasing number of graduates employed at both its Arizona headquarters and PING Europe, based in the East Midlands.
The new facilities are used by members of PING Europe, the current intern cohort, and University researchers engaged in a new research project delivered through the University’s Embedded Intelligence CDT to develop software for a new motion capture system in golf.
PING’s decision to co-locate on the campus and strengthen its partnership with the University helps anchor the region as an internationally important Sports Innovation Hub. The team is interested in exploring further collaborative projects and researchers interested in finding out more are very welcome to contact Dr Jon Roberts, Head of the Sports Technology Research Group.
