“It’s great to be able to return to Loughborough where my senior playing career started. Loughborough is world renowned for its sporting success and I am very excited to be part of the badminton performance programme and to work with the elite athletes to achieve their ambitions in badminton and academia.

“Throughout my playing career I have gained a vast amount of knowledge on what it takes to succeed in badminton, but I also have first-hand experience of combining high level sport whilst studying and believe I can use this to help guide athletes to achieve excellence in both fields.”

Dave Lindley, Loughborough University’s Badminton Head Coach, said:

“We are excited to have Chris working with Loughborough Performance Badminton as an Elite Doubles coach on a part-time consultancy basis alongside his role with the France national team.

“Having won Olympic, Commonwealth and European medals Chris brings with him a vast amount of experience and knowledge to the Loughborough Badminton programme and will help guide the development of doubles at the elite end of the performance pathway.

“He also brings his enthusiasm and passion for the sport to Loughborough and will focus on delivering coaching and mentoring to the elite athletes.”
