Pay award 2022

The Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) has informed the Higher Education Institutions participating in the 2022/23 New JNCHES* pay round that they should implement the pay uplift offered with effect from 1 August 2022.

The advice follows the conclusion of the dispute resolution process between UCEA and the relevant unions that have regrettably been unable to reach a settlement. The five HE trade unions consulted nationally are EIS, GMB, UCU, UNISON and Unite.

UCEA’s final offer of a 3% uplift on base pay for spinal points 20 and above and further increases on points 19 and below up to 9% will be implemented in the August pay.

Further information on the pay negotiations including details of the final offer is available on the UCEA website.

The updated salary scales are available on the HR website.
