Changes to Majordomo: Self-managed lists service

The self-managed lists service, Majordomo, will no longer be available for the creation of lists as of Tuesday 23 August 2022.

With the move to using Microsoft Teams for communication tools and collaborative working, the Majordomo service no longer meets operational requirements due to its low use and limited functionality.

Please note: This only affects Majordomo mailing lists that are managed by individuals within the University, identified by an email address of the form Individual list owners will be contacted, and nothing will be removed without further consultation

Please consider your email list requirements and if the list is still needed. If the list is still required, we recommend using one of these alternatives:

  • Jiscmail (recommended)
  • New or existing Microsoft team
  • New or existing Ad-Hoc Distribution group

It is recommended to use Jiscmail as there is an option for Institutional login which works with your Loughborough University credentials.
