Loughborough to host international Digital Concrete 2022 conference

Loughborough University will be hosting one of the largest international conferences in digital fabrication with concrete.

The Digital Concrete 2022 is organised by the Concrete Printing Research Group at Loughborough University, with Professor Richard Buswell from the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering as conference Chair.

In recent years, there has been an exponential and worldwide rise in the commercial interest in digital fabrication with concrete, and particularly with 3D concrete printing, developed in partnership with research laboratories across the globe. This RILEM conference, the third in the series, brings together world-leading experts to deliver the premier international event.

This will be the first in-person session since the inauguration of the conference at ETH in Zurich in 2018, as the 2020 event hosted by TU Eindhoven was online due to the pandemic. The event will provide a platform for key developments in the field, making it a must-attend event for researchers, engineers and practitioners across the world to share and discuss the latest innovations in the field.

The conference topics include:

  • Mix design, admixtures & alternative materials
  • Rheology & Fresh State Behaviour
  • Structural & non-structural mechanical Performance
  • Sustainability & Environmental Impact
  • Design & Applications
  • Process, automation & Digitisation
  • Quality Control & Industrialisation

The conference will run 27-29 June 2022. For more information, please visit the Digital Concrete 2022 website.
