Professor Mukherjee to launch the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering’s Water Seminar Programme

As part of the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering’s Water Seminar Programme, Professor Mahua Mukherjee from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) will be presenting ‘Ecosystem, Resilience and the Participatory GeoSM-NatE Tool’ on Thursday (28 October).

Professor Mukherjee is based in the Department of Architecture and Planning at IIT and is the Joint Faculty and Ex-Head of the Centre of Excellence in Disaster Mitigation and Management. She has a PhD in Sustainable Urban Development and prior to teaching had a well-experienced career in the sector.  

As part of the talk, Professor Mukherjee will explain the importance of technology and the community coming together to create effective resilience measures. She will also discuss how adopting sustainable practices specific to local needs and utilising the benefits of the Participatory-GeoSM-NatE tool can help to generate a holistic approach to resilience. 

The Water Seminar Programme invites both internal and external speakers from around the world to share the latest developments in their work
