Campus Wi-Fi: eduroam is the secure, wireless network at Loughborough University. Once you are set up, you can visit other eduroam institutions worldwide and log into their network using your Loughborough University credentials.

HallNet

HallNet and HallNet Wi-Fi is available in halls for connecting devices such as games consoles, smart TVs, smart speakers and other devices.

We highly recommend using the wired connection (HallNet) whilst in your room to connect your PC, laptop and games console. Free Ethernet cables are available to collect from the PC Clinic in the Library.

Studying from home or off-campus?

VPN

The VPN (Virtual Private Network) Service allows students and staff secure access to University resources from off-campus by using the Cisco AnyConnect Client app.

To connect to the VPN, you will be required to use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

MFA

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is an additional security step that verifies your identity. You will be required to use MFA on your devices when you are accessing online University systems and services off-campus, such as your University email, VPN, Learn and certain areas of the University website (which require you to log in). Enrol your mobile device using Duo Mobile app.

Self-service printers

Printing on campus couldn't be simpler - you can print from your own device and collect from any printer on campus.

Software

Take advantage of the free software; install the latest Microsoft Office on up to 5 devices and install course-specific specialist software.

Computer labs

The University has open-access computer labs across campus, most of which are open 24 hours a day. Please be aware that due to Covid-19 there may be some restrictions on using these labs.

You can check real-time availability of these facilities using our Computer and Software Availability system.
