Speech Bubble performer

Don’t miss a night of spoken word and poetry

Speech Bubble returns to Loughborough on 6 December in the Lounge, at the Students’ Union.

The spoken word and poetry night will provide an opportunity to hear from professional poets, Jemima Foxtrot and Emeka Ejiofor (aka True Colours), and there is also an open mic slot for those that want to perform.

Jemima Foxtrot is a writer, performer and theatre maker. She has produced several critically acclaimed works for stage and will publish her second collection of poetry A New Game in 2022.

True Colours released his first collection of poetry, Outspoken, earlier this year. He is known for his authentic take on society and describes his poems as raw and realistic.

Yash Chawla, who is this year’s Speech Bubble coordinator said: “Everyone is welcome – whether you are familiar with spoken word or not. A warm and friendly atmosphere combined with passionate poets, what’s not to like?”

If you would like to perform on the night, please email Yash: Y.M.Chawla-18@student.lboro.ac.uk. All abilities are welcome but there are limited spaces so open mic slots should be booked in advance.

Tickets are £5 (free for students) and can be booked in advance. You can find more information here
