Table of books in Library

Free books for Christmas

The Library is celebrating the Icelandic tradition of jólabókaflóð during this festive season by giving students free books to take home and read over the holiday period.

Jólabókaflóð roughly translates to ‘the Christmas book flood’ and involves exchanging books as gifts on Christmas Eve.

Last year the Library joined in with this tradition, giving away hundreds of books for free and they are now asking for donations of books in good condition so they can run the scheme again. They are accepting any genre including fiction, graphic novels, biographies and poetry.

Books will be displayed on a table in the Library foyer for students to pick up from 13-17 December.

Please drop off your donations at the Library before 13 December.
