Students: Important information about remote access to Windows computers

Due to important and urgent IT maintenance work, students will need to register to use the remote access to Windows computers in IT Labs on campus from 6am on Wednesday (26 May) for the foreseeable future. We appreciate that this is potentially disruptive, but the timings are unavoidable.

IT Services will be able to provide access to the lab computers for any student that requires it, but you will need to request access in advance via a web form available on the Learn homepage. IT Services will then arrange access as quickly as possible.

Please note that IT Services will only be able to deal with access requests between 8:30am-5pm, Monday to Friday, and that this may take some time to come into effect, so if you do need access we recommend you request it as soon as possible ahead of Wednesday. You will only need to request access once, not each time you need to use a computer.

If you have a timetabled session in a computer lab between Wednesday 26 - Friday 28 May we will automatically arrange access for you.

It is important to note that this only affects remote access to Windows computers; this work does not affect anyone wanting to use the machines in-person in the rooms, nor will it affect any remote access to Mac computers in IT Labs on campus. Remote access to lab computers (Macs and Windows when you have requested access) will still be via the Keyserver portal.

If you have any questions, please contact the IT Service Desk, however please note access can only be provided via the online form.
