Copyright guidance: new website available

To help staff and students unravel the myths around copyright and how it applies to their teaching and research, the Library has launched a new Copyright Guidance website.

Are you worried about copyright infringement? Are you unsure about how copyright impacts you or are simply curious and want to know the answers to popular questions such as:

  • Do I need to think about copyright when presenting at conferences?
  • Can I download this article?
  • Can I upload my lecturer’s slides to a website?

The new Copyright Guidance website answers frequently asked questions about teaching, research and PhD theses, as well as queries asked by students. It has links to a wide range of resources to help you source images, music/audio and films/video that are copyright-free or licensed for re-use. The website also includes relevant policies, terms and conditions and wording for correspondence asking for permission for copyright re-use, eg for using an image in a PhD thesis.

Please note that as it is an internal only site, you will need to have the VPN activated, if you are off-campus, and login with your University username and password.
