Be part of the Tokyo 2020 journey with ParalympicsGB!

Loughborough University is delighted to announce that we will be working with ParalympicsGB to provide volunteers for the delayed Tokyo 2020 Kitting Out event.

In this once in a lifetime opportunity, University staff are invited to apply to support the Paralympic delegation to receive their Adidas and ASOS kit ahead of traveling out to Tokyo for the Paralympic Games.

As part of the experience, you will help select and pack clothing that will be worn during this summer’s Games in Japan. This includes Opening and Closing ceremony wear, formal wear, village, training, and competition wear.

Kitting out will take place at Holywell Fitness Centre from 7th  June – 9th July  (weekdays only) between the hours of 09:00 – 17:00,

In line with the University’s policy to offer staff one working day each to undertake approved volunteer work, it has been agreed - with line manager approval - that two volunteer days can be taken for this opportunity. Therefore, depending on your working arrangements, you may need to use annual leave to fulfil the three-day commitment.

Staff wishing to get involved must commit to a minimum of three days participation. To find out more about this opportunity, visit the Coach & Volunteer academy Portal HERE, and to register interest please do so via the online availability survey HERE.

To access the CVA Portal, Staff will need to set up a profile as a ‘Community Volunteer’.

If you have any questions about the recruitment process for this opportunity please contact Matt Leonard (Sports Volunteering Officer) m.leonard@lboro.ac.uk.
