How will it affect me?

There will be a loss of power to all IT equipment in those buildings and IT services, including networking, will be unavailable.

Core IT systems and services will still be accessible from elsewhere on and off-campus, but any IT labs, PCs or local systems located in one of the affected buildings will not be accessible during the work.

Please be aware that all other equipment will lose power during this work, so it is recommended that you safely shut down your devices prior to the work and where possible make arrangements to switch them back on after. IT Services will not be able to switch on individual machines as a priority.

IT Services will ensure that core services in the buildings such as networking and telephony are restored and will take steps to safely shut down computer labs prior to the work and restore service in time for teaching.

Please note buildings located in Holywell Park will not be affected by this work.

By carrying out the work, power reliability will be enhanced across the campus.
