IT Services to host upcoming in-person support sessions to help students get ready for Multi-Factor Authentication

From 28 June, all students will need to use multi-factor authentication to access online University services remotely, such as your email account, VPN, MyResults and the Learn portal.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is an additional security step that verifies your identity – you may have come across something similar before when purchasing a product online or using a banking app.

Passwords can often be stolen, guessed, or hacked. By adding a second layer of security, both your account and other University systems will be much more secure and less likely to be compromised.

You can find out more information on the steps you need to take before 28 June here.

To support students with getting their mobile devices ready and to answer any additional queries, staff from IT Services will be located outside the University Library building on the following dates between 11am-2pm:

  • Tuesday 15 June
  • Thursday 17 June
  • Monday 21 June
  • Wednesday 23 June
  • Friday 25 June
  • Monday 28 June
  • Wednesday 30 June
  • Friday 2 July
