International Women in Engineering Day

Wednesday 23 June marks International Women in Engineering Day and to celebrate, Loughborough University is hosting a range of online activities for staff and students to get involved in.

This year’s theme is all about celebrating engineering heroes, so Loughborough Engineering’s social pages will be sharing video content throughout the day, showcasing the heroes we have at Loughborough University.

The Lottie dolls will also be taking a tour of the Loughborough campus, discovering more about the wonderful work that takes place every day at the University.

You can follow Loughborough Engineering across the following platforms:

Twitter: @LboroEng

Facebook: @LboroEng

Instagram: @LboroEngineering

LinkedIn: LboroEngineering

You can also share your own engineering heroes using the hashtags #INWED21 and #EngineeringHeroes.

An online discussion panel will also be held on 23 June, 12.30pm-2pm, looking at the lives of Loughborough Engineering women academics outside of their day job. They will reflect on their achievements, hobbies and interests as well as talk about the good days and bad days. You can find out more here or join the event directly here.

Finally, we will be showcasing some of our heroes on our dedicated webpage. Discover more about what inspires them and what advice they have for others.

International Women in Engineering Day is hosted by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES). You can find out more about Loughborough’s WES group here.
