Prestigious Papin Prize technician award nominations are open

Nominations are now open for the Papin Prize awards that recognise the achievements of technical colleagues in Higher Education.

Over the past year, technicians have gone to great lengths to make the transition to teaching online, making campuses safe and supporting research helping the fight against coronavirus.

A new category has been introduced this year to recognise the efforts of a technical team / individual during the pandemic. The other seven categories are:

  • Research
  • Teaching
  • Newcomer
  • Core Research Facility
  • Infrastructure
  • Outreach
  • Technical Team
  • The Professor Lord Bhattacharyya Lifetime Achievement Award

Named after the seventeenth century technician, Denis Papin, the first Papin Prizes were awarded in 2015.
