Corporate Communications launches Internal Communications Toolkit

The Corporate Communications team within Marketing and Advancement has launched an online toolkit to help staff members from across the institution.

The purpose of the toolkit is to:

  • Raise awareness of how the Internal Communications team can support teams with promoting their projects, events, news and initiatives.

  • Give colleagues the confidence to create their own content with a suite of resources.

The Internal Communications team is responsible for writing news stories for internal and external audiences; sending mass emails, including the weekly staff and student e-newsletters; planning, coordinating and supporting University-wide campaigns; and producing relevant, timely and diverse communications for other teams.

The website is split into the following sections:

  1. Our channels: Information about the different communication channels the Internal Communications team looks after.

  1. Messaging and tone: Useful guidance for writing your own copy.

  1. Timescales: How to produce quality content in advance through collaborative work with the Internal Communications team.

  1. Templates and examples: A collection of resources to support teams with their own communications, including campaign planning templates and tips for writing a blog.

  1. Teams we work closely with: An overview of how other teams in Marketing and Advancement can help get your message out.

Take a look around the toolkit here (please note you may be required to enter your University login details to access).
