Recharge your batteries with LU Arts’ Self-Care Sundays

By the time Sunday comes around are you feeling isolated, run down or just bored?

This term LU Arts is launching Self-Care Sundays to help you take some time out for yourself and recharge your batteries ready for the start of a new week. The workshops combine creative skills and mindfulness techniques and practices.

Creative workshops are a great way to de-stress. Arts Council England has shown through their research that the arts can have a positive impact on mental health and can even help reduce loneliness and isolation. They are also a great way to learn a new skill and maybe discover a new hobby.

This term’s workshops cover meditation, sound healing, baking, yoga and modelling and they are all suitable for complete beginners, so you don’t need to have any prior experience.

Many of the workshops will be run by members of the University community, with a mixture of current students, recent graduates and student societies already set to take part.

Speaking of this new initiative, Director of LU Arts Nick Slater said: “Our programme of holistic and arts activities are the perfect way to wind down your Sundays and prepare for the busy week ahead.”

The programme for this term is as follows:
