LSUTV success at 2020 National Student Television Awards

Loughborough’s student-run television network, LSUTV, picked up six awards at this year’s National Student Television Awards.

Their ‘Match Report’ series which included coverage of the 2019 Big Match against Wolves, the IMS Netball Cup and BUCS Super Rugby clinched them the title for Best Sport. They also won the Best Documentary category for ‘Loughborough Cycling’, produced by Will Clough.

The network was also highly commended in four categories:

  • Best Broadcaster
  • Technical Achievements (Graphics)
  • Post-Production (Loughborough Cycling documentary)
  • Dramatic Performance (Isobel Lawson)

The Station Manager 2019-20, Joshua Gray, said: “LSUTV had a fantastic 2019, despite some challenges. To be honoured with our biggest awards haul since 2014, when we hosted them, is a testament to our fantastic volunteers.

“We’ve renovated our studios and upgraded some of our kit this year so it’s a fantastic time to join the station. Being able to showcase the best parts of Loughborough is such a privilege.”

The LSU Media Chair 2019-20, Christopher Leroux added: “It’s fantastic to see the thousands of hours that our amazing volunteers have put into these projects, and it’s great to see that they’ve been recognised for it.”

Ben Cooke, who took on the role of Station Manager for this academic year said: “Congratulations to the team who worked so hard last year to produce this award winning content, I can’t wait to continue this legacy into this academic year.”
