Student activities to take place across both campuses to mark University Mental Health Day 2020

As part of this year’s University Mental Health Day (UMHD) on 5 March, both the University and Loughborough Students’ Union (LSU) will be holding activities to support student wellbeing.

UMHD is held to change the narrative and raise awareness that mental health should be seen as a priority in the university community, seeking to positively change the future of student mental health.

At the London campus, various sessions and initiatives are taking place from 10.30am-3.30pm, which are all free to attend (although some do require booking in advance).

From doggy de-stressing to face painting and awareness stalls and raffles, there will also be presentations, techniques for mindfulness and inspiring lectures available to go along to.

All of the events will take place on the ground floor at Loughborough University London on Thursday 5 March. To find out more, visit the dedicated event listing online.

At the Loughborough campus, LSU Welfare and Diversity’s Association HeadsUp! will be hosting a Creative and Wellbeing Fayre on the same day from 12.30pm-3pm in Cognitos (in the Union Building).

There will be information points from various support services and associations present, as well as freebies, creative activities and student-designed postcards for sale, with all profits going to Mind.

HeadsUp! is a student-led group promoting positive mental health and wellbeing, raising awareness of mental health issues and providing support across campus.

If you are a student and feel like you need support for your mental health – or maybe you are concerned about the wellbeing of a loved one – see a list of both University and external support services which may be of some help below.
