LU Arts introduces weekly digests reflecting on creativity at the University and further afield

LU Arts have begun publishing weekly digests for staff and students which will reflect on the creative activities and events at the University as well as further afield.

Written by the Director of LU Arts, Nick Slater, the first digest was issued on Wednesday (25 March) and introduced LU Arts and the significant part it plays at Loughborough University.

It begins by touching on themes of support and wellbeing, which are especially important during these times where many staff and students are remote working and may feel lonely or uninspired.

Nick discusses the ways in which the team will continue to offer engaging, entertaining and calming initiatives which will help others to develop and learn creative skills as well as discover new interests. Examples of the activities they have already undertaken in the last few weeks include the transition of their book club to an online format, and the launch of Loughborough Creative Distancing, a Facebook group open to staff, students and the local community that aims to keep people connected.

Exciting new developments for their programme are mentioned too, such as a brand-new virtual magazine that will feature interviews, articles and competitions, and also live streams of performances and podcasts.
