Launching today: Brush up on your skills with Digital Week

The University is hosting a series of sessions and online resources this week (16-20 March) covering a variety of aspects about the digital tools available to staff and students.

Each day covers a different topic with the first looking at digital communication.

Staff

Working remotely

IT services will be running drop-ins to assist staff in making adjustments for working off-campus. There is no need to book. Come along if you have questions or if you are experiencing difficulties.

  • Monday 16 March: 2-4pm, MAR105, Matthew Arnold
  • Tuesday 17 March: 9-11am, SMB014, Stewart Mason Building

If you cannot attend the sessions, IT Services have a range of resources available online about working from home.

They have also created a blog post with all the tips and tricks you need to know about using Office 365 – a useful tool for both on and off-campus working.

Delivering teaching remotely

There will be a Panopto Personal Capture training session available today (Monday 16 March), 3-3.45pm in the Graduate House Training Room where you can receive practical support on how to record your lectures using the desktop version of ReView Lecture Capture. Please bring your own device.

The Centre for Academic Practice is also running a telephone Helpdesk service all week for your queries on delivering teaching remotely – 01509 222848.

Students

As part of your Office 365 account, you have access to a number of additional Microsoft Apps alongside Office 2016, Outlook and OneDrive for Business. There’s more information on how to make the most of them here.
