Have your say on Universities of the Future and learn key enterprise and employability skills in the process!

As part of a joint initiative between Loughborough Enterprise Network and Personal Best, students will be given the opportunity to pitch their own solutions to the question: ‘Universities of the Future: What do they look like?’ as part of a unique one-day challenge.

Taking place on Monday 30 March, students of any discipline or year group can take part in this exciting opportunity to develop their skillset and work in teams with students from across campus.

Have your say and create your own future institution… Whether it’s an all-inclusive curriculum, a self-sustaining campus or a university led by robots – you get to decide.

You’ll then have the chance to pitch your final idea to a specialist panel of entrepreneurs, researchers and employers from top organisations.

This challenge is designed not only to help you become more creative and innovative, but to develop your teamwork and collaborative skills as our experts help you to focus on effective idea generation and perfecting your pitch. What’s more, this event will pay close attention to the key skills top employers are looking for in soon-to-be graduates just like you!

By taking part, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and showcase your skills, as well as learn how to model your ideas and pitch your solutions effectively
  • Access on-campus expertise from our researchers to our Careers Network and the Loughborough Enterprise Network team
  • Be assessment centre ready for any future placement or graduate job application processes
  • Stand out to employers with our panel of experts and judges on the day

Students who take part in the challenge will also be in with a chance to win a range of exciting prizes and opportunities, both individually and as a team.

The event takes place from 9am-6pm in The Start-Up Lab and West Park Teaching Hub. Those who are interested in attending can book their place here and refreshments and food will be provided.

Universities of the Future: What do they look like? can be submitted as part of the Personal Best Award, a new scheme which encourages students to develop and log their academic, professional and personal achievements. More information can be found here.
