Sports facilities

In consultation and with the agreement of our sports partners on campus, British Athletics, British Swimming, British Triathlon, Powerlifting and the English Institute for Sport, and following the statement from the Prime Minister today, all Loughborough University sports facilities and services will be closing on Friday 20 March.

We are aware that exercise has a role to play in supporting the wellbeing and morale of the nation during this difficult time, so we will be creating various digital solutions to enable students, staff and the wider community to stay fit and healthy.

We will continue to monitor the situation and work together to re-open our facilities as soon as it is safe to do so. In these unprecedented and difficult times we ask everyone to stand together.

We recognise the valued support from our sport partners and the extraordinary commitment from colleagues who have enabled us to continue to operate up to this point.
