University undertakes staff survey focused on equality, diversity and inclusivity

The University's Staff Survey, which focuses on equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), is now live.

The University is seeking to find out about staff experiences of EDI issues at Loughborough and to gather suggestions about what it might do to improve equality, diversity and inclusivity at the University.

The survey will run until 5 April.

We Love Surveys have been commissioned to manage the survey on the University’s behalf. On Monday (9th March), you will have received an email from yourvoice@welovesurveys.co.uk inviting you to take part in the survey. Please be assured this is not spam and has come from a legitimate source approved by IT Services.

The survey will take around 15 minutes to complete.

All responses will be anonymous. Completed questionnaires will go directly to We Love Surveys. When the survey period has closed, We Love Surveys will analyse the responses and provide results to the University in a way that does not allow any individual or their response to be identified.

The University will make donations to both the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust and the Leicestershire-based group of the Fawcett Society based on the survey response rate. If 750 responses are received each charity will receive £50; if 1,500 replies are submitted the University will donate £150 to both; and if 2,500 responses are received, each charity will be given £250.

The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust has been selected by members of Loughborough University’s BME Staff Network because of the positive work the Trust undertakes to tackle inequality. It works with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds aged 13 to 30 to inspire and enable them to succeed in the career of their choice. The Trust also focuses on influencing others to create a fairer society in which everyone, regardless of their background, can flourish.

The Fawcett Society was chosen because of its position as the UK’s leading membership charity campaigning for gender equality and women’s rights at work, at home and in public life. It was considered a particularly appropriate charity for us to support as it has a Leicestershire-based group.
