New Information Security training now available

Do you feel confident working securely with personal information? Can you spot a phishing scam, and have you considered what you can do to keep information safe if you are working remotely?

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has recently been in the spotlight after issuing record penalties to organisations who have experienced data breaches, such as British Airways and Marriott International.

As part of a dedicated project at Loughborough, Academic Registry and IT Services have launched a new Information Security training course designed to provide staff with an overview of the key issues concerning information security and how it can be managed effectively.

This interactive course incorporates scenario-based learning and consists of six modules and an accompanying test.

The course is mandatory for all staff members and must be retaken every two years. The training will take approximately one hour to complete and can be accessed through your LEARN account.

Each School and Professional Service has a designated Data Co-ordinator who can assist with any queries you might have. You can find out who yours is here.

Alternatively, for further advice, or if you are concerned about any data being at risk, please contact dp@lboro.ac.uk as soon as possible.
