Industry-led panel to discuss why diversity matters

As part of the Autumn Careers Fair, students are invited to attend ‘Why Diversity Matters’, an industry-led panel talk featuring employees from a wide range of organisations, some of whom will be alumni.

Diverse workforces have been proven to benefit organisations by increasing innovation, growth and success, and have become a key priority for many workplaces.

Representatives from HSBC, MBDA, PwC, Rolls Royce and Enterprise Rent a Car will speak about the importance of having a diverse workforce within their organisations, as well as positive action measures and good practice that are used to attract, nurture and develop talented employees whilst respecting their diverse backgrounds.

In addition, the event will explore organisational and economic benefits of recruiting from diverse backgrounds, and diversity and inclusion initiatives employers use to support the recruitment, progression and retention of graduates.

A Q&A session will also be held and compered by Hemisha Harji from the Careers Network at the University.

The panel will take place on Monday 21 October from 6:30pm-8pm in Room J001 (Edward Herbert Building), and all year groups and degree disciplines are welcome to attend.
