Launch your business with the Studio

The Studio is currently accepting applications from finalists who want to launch their own businesses when they graduate – and graduates no more than five years out.

Loughborough’s home for graduate start-ups, the Studio provides access to the resources, expertise and knowledge needed to transform a business idea into a sustainable, successful venture.

Since 2011, the Studio has supported more than 50 businesses, dozens of which are now registered and trading. Between them, they have helped to create over 80 jobs, 20 or so internships and almost 70 volunteering opportunities.

Members of the Studio benefit from a great start-up support package, including:

  • Access to University facilities, resources and assistance
  • Mentoring, business support and guidance
  • Intellectual Property advice
  • Professional development training
  • Funding and investment opportunities
  • A supportive network of peers
  • Free access to a dynamic co-working space

Branding agency, a dozen eggs, started life in the Studio in 2010. The original partnership has expanded to a team of five, and they have a broad portfolio of regional and national clients, including Barnardo's, Charnwood Brewery, Helter Skelter Arts, and Real Talk.

Of their time as Studio members, Co-Founders Joanne Wdowiak and Fran Collins say:

“It was amazing to share the Studio with so many driven, ambitious and brilliant entrepreneurs. It’s rare to find such a holistic support structure that offers ongoing training, mentoring, tailored advice and funding along with awesome shared working space and facilities.”

Pete Hitchings, Incubator Manager, encourages anyone who’d like to find out more about the Studio to get in touch:

“The Studio is a vibrant and exciting place to nurture a fledgling business, and it’s a pleasure to support the success of so many young enterprises. Setting up on your own can seem daunting, but we offer a unique opportunity to take that step in a supportive environment.

“And, if setting up a business isn’t something you’re considering, but you’d like to flex your entrepreneurial muscles, there are plenty of other ways to get involved with the Loughborough Enterprise Network. If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch.”

The application deadline is midnight on 18 December 2019.
