Loughborough University celebrates International Women’s Day

Today (8 March 2019) is International Women’s Day – a day which marks the achievement of women across the world and raises awareness against bias, campaigning for a gender-balanced world.

The University is proud of its inclusive culture and thrilled to showcase the women of the #LboroFamily.

Over 60 brilliant and inspiring women from across the University’s community have provided individual profiles showcasing their fantastic achievements, which are available to view on the University’s dedicated International Women’s Day 2019 webpage.

It includes staff, students and alumnae of the University from all walks of life, who have discussed what International Women’s Day means to them.

The profiles include authors, comedians, scientists, award-winners, engineers, entrepreneurs, activists and researchers – to name but a few examples.

We are encouraging staff and students to spread the word on their social media channels using the hashtags #IWD2019, #LboroFamily and #BalanceForBetter.

Throughout the week, the University and Loughborough Students’ Union has hosted a number of events linked to International Women’s Day. More information can be found here.
