Loughborough Vice-Chancellor to receive international leadership award

Loughborough University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Allison, is to receive an international award in recognition of his outstanding leadership.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) announced yesterday that Professor Allison will be presented with its prestigious Leadership Award at its annual conference in August.

Speaking about his selection for the honour, the CASE award judges said: “We know that a critical success factor in institutional success in advancement is the approach and involvement of its leader – VC Bob is an exemplar.”

Professor Allison – or VC Bob, as he is known to staff, students and alumni alike – has been Vice-Chancellor of Loughborough University since 2012. Under his leadership, the University has come together as a community focused on excellence in all aspects of its endeavour.

Professor Allison has driven advancement in all forms, steering Loughborough to a top ten position in all the national university league tables and building on its award-winning student experience.

“To receive this award is a tremendous honour,” he said. “Loughborough is a very special place and I am proud to be a member of the University community. I would like to thank my colleagues, our students, alumni and many other supporters, whose commitment and hard work has been critical to Loughborough’s success.”
