University Medical Centre: Christmas opening hours

The University’s Medical Centre will be operating reduced hours during the Christmas holidays. Below is a list of the amended hours between 23 December – Wednesday 1 January:

  • Monday 23 December: 8am-6.30pm
  • Tuesday 24 December: 8am-4pm
  • Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 December: CLOSED
  • Friday 27 December: 8am-6.30pm
  • Monday 30 December: 8am-6.30pm
  • Tuesday 31 December: 8am-4pm
  • Wednesday 1 January: CLOSED

If you need to make an appointment at the centre, please ensure you book your appointment in advance as last minute requests can not be guaranteed.

If you have a repeat prescription, you may not need to see a Doctor and can instead request your medication via email (med.centre@lboro.ac.uk), using the online system or by handwritten request. The Medical Centre requires two working days to process any requests, but please note during busy periods these may take longer to action.

Should you require urgent medical care whilst away during the holidays or when the Medical Centre is closed, there are a number of services available:

  • Call 111
  • Visit your nearest Urgent Care Centre
  • Visit your local pharmacist who can provide treatment and advice for minor ailments and conditions
  • Register at your home GP as a temporary resident (otherwise you will be deducted and unable to return to the University Medical Centre)
