Rainbows charity event raises over £800

The University’s Graduate Management Trainees – with support from Imago and the Events team – held a charity event in support of Rainbows on Wednesday 24 July on the Hazlerigg-Rutland lawn.

Rainbows is a local hospice for children and young people, and the event successfully raised over £800 thanks to the generous donations from Loughborough staff and students.

The fundraiser comprised of a variety of food stalls, garden games, and a bake-off competition, to encourage staff and students to take a break from their daily activities.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Rob Allison, Human Resources and Organisational Development Services Manager Pauline Matturi, and Performance and Development Director Richard Wheater judged the competition, with Laura Dale from the Research Office being crowned the winner. Sarah Parton and Daniel Norton from Academic Registry were announced as the runners-up.
