Start every week right with LU Arts’ ‘Happy Mondays’ series

Yep, you heard it right, Monday is the new ‘funday’ on campus!

LU Arts and Loughborough Students’ Union’s Happy Monday’s series is back with a line-up of creative taster events, gig nights and more for students this autumn term.

Graffiti artist Buber Nebz kicked-off the exciting, new series earlier this month when he visited the University to create a striking piece of street art outside the Students’ Union.

The talented local, whose works include the Loughborough Lego Men, Peter Pizzeria’s elephant mural and the eye-catching orange portrait on Hastings Street, allowed students to ‘have-a-go' with the spray paints and he answered questions on graffiti art.

Other upcoming Happy Mondays events include a weaving workshop, a lesson on designing and printing your own tote bag, a photography class plus many more.

Next week’s pasta-making workshop with Chiara Dellerba is already sold-out, highlighting the importance to book your place on events fast!

Talking about the series, Nick Slater, Director of LU Arts said: “The Happy Mondays taster sessions are a great way to try out something new, have fun with your friends and meet new people.

“We've lined up a really varied programme so there should be something for everyone.”

The events can be booked online through the LU Arts website or the University website’s internal events listings.

All Happy Mondays events take place in Cognitos (based in the LSU building) and due to limited spaces, a £3 deposit will be required when booking.

On completion of the workshop, students will receive the equivalent of £3 in loyalty points to spend on purchases in LSU.
