A celebration of the life and service of Professor Memiş Acar

A secular service for our colleague Professor Memiş Acar, who passed away following a short illness in August, will be held at 1:15pm on Wednesday, November 14, at Loughborough University, in room T003, Wolfson Building.

Colleagues, family and friends will pay personal tributes to Memiş and acknowledge his contribution to his University and professional practice.

A book of remembrance (pictured), which can be found at the Wolfson reception, will be available until Friday, November 9.

Memiş's wife Serpil, who works at the Loughborough Design School, has suggested charitable donations as an alternative to gifts or flowers.

She said: "Many of you have asked how you can help celebrate the memory of Memis - rather than flowers or gifts.

"It would be wonderful if you would like to make a contribution to the Brain Tumour Charity, which is funding research to help end this terrible disease."

If you would like to share your memories please email Bhav Mistry at b.mistry@lboro.ac.uk.
