On Tuesday 4 December, Loughborough’s Institute of Advanced Studies will be hosting a free lecture event with Dr Enid Montague (De Paul) titled ‘Engineering the patient-provider experience’.

Dr Enid Montague currently works within the Design School, having been awarded a prestigious Fulbright Scholar Award earlier this year which has based her at the University until January.

Her research uses human factors and human-computer interaction methodologies, design principles and theories to understand health care systems to promote safety and patient-centred care.

During her time at Loughborough, she has been working with Dr Patrick Waterson and the Human Factors in Complex Systems Research Group.

This lecture will discuss her work with modelling and understanding how patients and providers interact in primary care environments, and the challenges and opportunities for designing future health care systems.

Of the lecture, Dr Montague said: “I am looking forward to sharing my research with the Loughborough community, and hope to build new research collaborations across campus through resulting discussions.”

Professor Steve Rothberg, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research, added: “I’m delighted that we are hosting Enid through the prestigious Fulbright Scholar Award scheme. This lecture will help to bring our research communities together through the Institute of Advanced Studies to find out more about her research.

Dr Montague has received numerous awards for her research, including the Francis Research Fellowship for research that emphasizes ‘longer, safer and healthier lives’ as well as a Kl2 early career research award from that National Institutes of Health (NIH) to explore trust in health care systems.

The lecture will take place in the James France Building from 3pm-4pm, with an opportunity for networking along with refreshments after. All are welcome to attend and can register online here.
