Win a Loughborough Cup this Fairtrade Fortnight

Fairtrade Fortnight is currently underway and to mark the occasion, the Sustainability team has highlighted a number of ways in which staff and students can make a difference to the lives of the people who grow the things we love.

  • When we purchase our everyday food and drink, we may not realise we could be feeding exploitation. Buying Fairtrade products such as cotton, coffee, chocolate and bananas can make a huge difference to over 1.65 million farmers by providing them with a fairer deal and better working conditions
  • Support Fairtrade by looking for certified products – these items will have the Fairtrade logo on the packaging
  • When you’re out and about, consider asking your local coffee shop if their coffee and tea is Fairtrade.

The Sustainability Team is also running an online competition that gives you the chance to win a Loughborough Cup filled with Fairtrade chocolate.

For a chance to win, simply visit the @SustainLboro Twitter or Loughborough University Sustainability Facebook page and answer the Fairtrade-related question.

The deadline for submissions is this Sunday (11 March) and the winner will be picked at random.
