Poetry evening returns to Students’ Union

Speech Bubble, a night for poets who wish to take to the stage, returns to Loughborough Students’ Union on Monday 12 March.

Open to both experienced and inexperienced performers, there will be open mic slots available throughout the evening for those who would like to take part.

There will also be two special guests performing on the evening - Imogen Downes and MiKo Berry.

Imogen Downes is a poet, writer and theatre maker from Bristol. Her work, which has been shared in a number of venues across the UK, is influenced by the rawness of performance poetry and her experiences as a young woman.

MiKo Berry is a spoken word poet from Edinburgh who performs all over Europe and has won awards in six different countries. Both hilarious and heart-warming, even when tackling tough subjects such as depression and loss, there is a positivity and hopefulness throughout his work that shines through.

The show will start from 7:30pm and take place in Cognitos inside the Students’ Union.

The event is free for students and £4 on the door for members of the public. If you are interested in performing on the night, or to find out more information about the event, visit the LU Arts website.
