Chance to learn about sports management or entrepreneurship at International Summer School

Are you interested in the idea of becoming your own boss? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to learn more about what it’s like to work in management within the sports industry?

The School of Business and Economics is pleased to announce they have a number of places available for their 2018 International Summer School, which takes place from 23 June – 21 July.

The four-week summer school will take place at both the Loughborough and London campuses, and could earn participants up to 6 US or 10 ECTS credits.

The courses are suitable for both undergraduate and postgraduate students wanting to learn more about sports, management or entrepreneurship in an international context.

There are two pathways on offer:

  • Pathway 1: Entrepreneurship and Innovation

This inspiring programme will teach students how to start, fund and grow a business. The modules will cover contemporary issues in entrepreneurship and the successes and failures of a business.

  • Pathway 2: Sports Management

The Sports Management pathway is an exciting course that will educate students about sports marketing in the digital era as well as the international issues currently faced in sports management. Topics within the modules include finance and funding, the role of social media and the development of sports brands.

Both programmes have two modules and each module is worth 3 US or 5 ECTS points. It is possible to study just one module or combine this with modules from other pathways participants may be interested in.

The Summer School is a great opportunity to make new friends, develop intercultural skills and gain extra credits towards students’ study. In addition, throughout the four weeks there will be a support team on hand to ensure those taking part have the best possible experience.

The 2018 fees are priced as follows:

  • Module 1 only: £2,000
  • Module 2 only: £2,200
  • Both modules: £3,900

Prices include all tuition, field trips, B&B accommodation in student residences and lunch which will be provided on teaching days. There are also competitive scholarships available.

If you are interested in attending this year’s Summer School, please email sbe.summerschool@lboro.ac.uk before Friday 6 April to register your place.
