Take advantage of #lboroexperts to support your New Year health plan

Have you made a New Year resolution to exercise more?  You need to look no further than campus for the very best advice and guidance available.

As part of the University’s Christmas and New Year health and wellbeing campaign, campus gym instructor Barry Shine has put together two back-to-basics workouts which anybody can try as part of their healthy New Year lifestyle.

These simple plans, for cardio and weights, are based on established principles which will support a variety of goals, regardless of experience or fitness level.

The first looks at improving endurance, which could give a boost to performance in sports such as football, netball or rugby, which all have a large cardiovascular element.

The second, takes you through a complete weights routine, one which targets the whole body.

Read the #lboroexperts story for more information including step-by-step instructions and demonstration videos.

University staff can also take advantage of two gyms on campus: Powerbase Gym and Holywell Fitness Centre.  You can find out more about memberships by visiting the Loughborough Sport website.

University staff can also take advantage of a two week membership at the Holywell Fitness Centre for just £10 throughout January, with free access to over 80 classes as well as the swimming pool. This offer is available to purchase online or at one of the gym receptions.
