Staff invited to bid for 2017/18 Inside Out Fund

The University is delighted to kick off the first round of the Inside Out fund, as part of the Community Donations Funds programme for the academic year 2017/18.

The Community Donations Fund supports the local area, by providing financial support to community groups and organisations across Charnwood.

Over the years, the University has donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to help local organisations, run projects, activities and organise day trips. It has been running since 2009.

Bidding for this year’s Inside Out fund is now open and will remain open until the 26 January. A total of £4,000 is available in this round, with a further £4,000 becoming available in the summer term.

Applications for up to £500 can be made by members of University staff, who are involved with organisations or groups within Charnwood. Specific and identifiable projects will be considered (rather than, for example, administration costs) and projects or activities that increase engagement between the University and the community are particularly welcome.

Last year, fantastic Charnwood groups such as Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People and Mountfields Lodge School were awarded funding.

Stakeholder Relations Manager for the University, Alison Barlow, comments: “We’re very excited to be launching the Inside Out Fund for another academic year, especially because there are two rounds of funding available for the Open and Inside Out Fund.

“There are so many fantastic community groups who run amazing projects but many of them are facing increasing funding challenges so it’s great we can offer support and help through the fund. The two rounds will hopefully result in more bids and a wider range of groups receiving the support they need.”
